Dear Members:

We wish you a happy New Year as we prepare for a productive year for LWVWC.

The LWVWC Board is approaching the mid-way point in our strategic planning. As a result, the Board has identified areas for research and growth and will begin narrowing and defining those areas to develop a 5-year plan. The Board is working to identify just what we need to know, as well as who should inform that knowledge, and how we can retrieve the information. Once we have mapped out a preliminary plan, it will be important to share that with you, our general membership, for your perspectives and feedback.

We also are working to identify very specifically the nitch we fill in Washington County at this point and how that may change given current cultural, economic, and governmental changes. As we move forward, it will be critical that we use our resources wisely to meet the needs of our membership and community without overextending.

Our January 13 Membership Meeting, a discussion of legislative priorities, is expected to generate a lively exchange of ideas. Join us for a relaxed light meal and an opportunity to discuss current MD General Assembly priorities with other members. Please e-mail or call to let us know that you'll attend.
